Love this spot for Salvadoran food! Definitely would recommend the cheese rice pupusas
Been driving by this restaurant for many years and finally got the chance to try it. Food: we got some rice dough cheeses and beans pupusa. Somewhat harder than the regular ones, and I think it's due to the rise dough. However, it was still good. Pan con gallina, was actually really good. Good portions of chicken which is well cooked, and slaw does not have too much mayo. Nuegados we're tasty, and crispy. Plátanos were okay. Service was good, waiter was attentive, and nice. Would definitely brecommned them to have more waiters. Definitely a nice spot to have some central American food.
I came here with a group of business partners and even though we were all dressed up we felt like home. The food here is typical and it didn't disappoint. Every one ordered something different and everyone was satisfied. The menu prices are fair for the food. You get a decent amount of food. The drinks on the other hand are pretty pricey. I was charged over $3 for mineral water and I didn't even get the bottle. Just keep that in mind.
El Baron... I really think you deserve 5 stars, but after coming in today just for a regular sized horchata and being charged $3.27 I had to deduct a star. I was in a rush and didn't have time to ask, but the only way that I could make sense of such a random price is that the horchata is $2.99 plus a tax of 9.5%. The horchata is delicious but $2.99 is way too expensive for a cup that size and the tax rate should be 9% in this part of town. Anyway, the food here is delicious. You have your typical Salvadorean dishes as well as lots of Mexican items. Honestly, stick to the Salvadorean stuff as the cooks are all Salvadorean and better Mexican food can be had on the other side of town. Get the pupusas de arroz! They are DELICIOUS!! The arroz pupusas are slightly lighter and have a little crunch to them. The revueltas are my favorite but they have many other fillings too. Parking is very difficult here on the weekends, especially on Sundays as there is a church right across the street.
Coming here for about 20 years. Service is always great. Sometimes it take a bit longer but is worth it . Food wise is like my mamá make it. Plus las frias are always cold. The only sigue is the parking is a bit complicado but u can always manage.
